According to the CIC Report, JD Logistics is the largest player, in terms of total revenue, in China's integrated supply chain logistics services industry with a market share of 2.7% in 2020. The Group was set up as an internal logistics department under JD Group. Since commencing to serve external customers in 2017, proportion of revenue earned from external customers grew continuously and reached 46.1% in 2020. |
| Strengths |
- Advanced proprietary technology empowering the entire supply chain. JD Logistics leverages fundamental technologies such as 5G, AI, big data, cloud computing and IoT to continuously improve the capabilities in automation, digitalization, and intelligentization. It also extensively utilized automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and robotics to improve the efficiency, productivity and accuracy of our operations.
- Highly synergized logistics networks. Its warehouse network, line-haul transportation network, last-mile delivery network, bulky item logistics network, cold-chain logistics network and cross-border logistics network are extensive, flexible and digitally integrated. As of December 31, 2020, JD Logistics operated over 900 warehouses, and the logistics networks cover almost all districts and counties in China.
- Committed to investing in technological innovations. JD Logistics invested over RMB5.0 billion for the past 3 years in research and development, to continuously improve its technological capabilities. As of December 31, 2020, the Group was entitled to over 4,400 patents and computer software copyrights (including applications thereof), of which over 2,500 relate to its automation and unmanned technologies.

Revenue grew by 47% year-on-year in 2020, which was a faster growth rate than in 2019. Together with the increase in gross profit margin from 2.9% in 2018 to 8.6% in 2020, the Group recorded an adjusted profit of RMB1.709b yuan in 2020, ending 13 years of continuous losses. |
